Once again, I find myself surprised at the almost elegantly smooth style of writing Bethany Adams has employed. I couldn't put it down once I got started, and found myself done with the book far too soon. I am highly impressed by the quality of the editing since I haven't seen a single error in the book. Believe me when I say it is a very nice surprise to find in new authors, one which has me coming back for more. I thoroughly enjoyed the new characters as well as the old in this tale and hope we can see more of Delbin in the future. As always, I strongly recommend you read this book- and if you are new to these books, check out the rest. You won't be disappointed.
Be aware that this is short even for a novella. Introducing new characters, it offers very little plot progression, although it doesn’t completely abandon the exist characters and overall plot. In fact, although you likely wouldn’t miss it for the original plot’s progression, it offers hints as to likely future wrinkles involving the new characters, so you won’t wish to skip it if you’re reading the series. I expect these new characters will be central moving forward. And it’s only a buck; given her price to length ratio, this one’s a bargain.
This short novella connects the second story and the book to be released very soon - fingers crossed. Again, the lead characters have shifted. Somehow, the story is entirely unique and engaging anyway. (Adams is a secretive mastermind?)It was a short and sweet telling of a short adventure that will have intriguing consequences in the elven world Adams created. Even in a short tale, Adams gently reminds us to be better people. Encouraging us to challenge our mental models and prejudices because no one and nothing is quite as it seems.
The first two books were enjoyable, this one os only a third the length of the others and while it contains the same story line it is new characters. So if you are looking for a continuation of the characters form books 1 & 2 this is not it.
I love this world and these characters. This fit in perfectly with what is happening in the series. The author also really knows how to write characters that are interesting and engaging. I only wish that it was longer. It ended and I was like WTF? Onto the next installment.
Another good installment of The Return of the Elves series. Again this novella introduces new characters to get attached to. I couldn't stop reading and also enjoyed the bonus short story at the end. Looking forward to reading book 4.
I've read all 5 books now so I'm not sure which book covers a certain particular event. I will say that I loved this set of 5 books. I read through them quickly since they were so exciting to read. Excellent author.
