This is awful. To be an intro book, it does a poor job of actually explaining stuff. I feel like you need a physics degree just to read it and comprehend it. We are half way thru the semester and I am still struggling no matter how many times I read the chapter (It doesn't help my instructor isn't very good). I finally caved and ordered the Edelman book everyone talks about. Hopefully it can save me.
Great book with review questions to help you practice for exams. It provides in-depth explanations for complex topics. I actually preferred this book over the Edelman book which everyone else seems to prefer.
Excellent and generous illustrations, with plain spoken explanations of somewhat complicated technical terms. There are a lot of technical terms.I have tried to understand this subject with some other texts, but this is hands down the clearest.A reasonable understanding of high school physics and math would be helpful.
Great book. You could find anything related to subject of ultrasound equipment and technology. The explanation on technical subjects are also very good.
I highly recommend this book for anyone seeking to pass the ARDMS Sonographic Physics registry. Dr. Kremkau is wonderful at explaining the principles necessary to understand and operate modern sonographic material. He doesn't"dumb it down"--he simply explains the concepts.

I was originally looking at a sonography textbook that cost over $200 when I found this book. This book is a very good intro text on sonogaphy and contains just about everything you will need to know for the certification (although perhaps in lessor detail than other textbooks). I obtained this to get an early start on my knowledge before attending Diagnostic Ultrasound school....well worth the cost either to rent for a semester (I did this route) or buy outright. Easy to read with many excellent illustrations.
Its a textbook. As far as textbooks go, this one is easy to read and understand.
