If you are interested in “learning†AutoCAD LT for the MAC, this book is not for you. Resemblance is not apparent, and the user interface is structured entirely different than the examples in this book.

Well organized and illustrated this book walks you through the ins and outs of Auto Cad. the task based approach is ideal for mastering the concepts. I've dabbled with the software but never took the time to really study it. this manual provides a solid understanding. It is direct but easy to follow. the illustrations are helpful and the screenshots are more readable than most books of this nature. Overall a good tutorial.
I know Google Sketch Up and thought it would be interesting to try out AutoCAD. This is a clear, project based intro. I don't plan to move to AutoCAD, but after working through this book, I am more informed about the basics of the software and the differences between it and SketchUp.
I'm a very novice AutoCAD user, and this book was perfectly targeted to me. It taught the basics of all of the AutoCAD functions with clear tutorial examples. My experience is with AutoCAD LT, and it's definitely helped me learn a lot of the basic functions I was just stumbling through when learning on my own.
Well written, nicely laid out and easy to follow. Would be an excellent acquisition for beginners or pros. It is definitely beginner oriented but would be a good reference to hand in hand at any level.
