The guide gave good tips, but is not all inclusive. However, I used it to supplement my practice tests and flashcards. As for the breakdowns of questions, excellent. It does a fantastic job articulating reasoning and thought process. For the price, this product is unbeatable. Just wish it had more practice problems.
The guide is ok, not as in depth as I expected. The book does a very good job with the questions. Would like to have more questions to prepare and a practice exam or two.
I really like everything in this book. Math, English (reading and writing). I keep going with my test preparation. This book will help me to succeed in my DRE test for my graduate school.

This is an excellent supplement to the GRE Prep Testing. Most prep books are 2 to 3 inches thick and I hate carrying those everywhere I can study. This book is maybe 1/2 inch thick, has all of the essential prep information needed for the GRE, and easy to read. One of my favorite things about the TEST PREP BOOKS is that the explanation for answers is easiest to understand of all the prep books I've read. For someone that is fresh out of college and headed to Graduate School, this may be the only prep book you need. It's been a while since I've graduated from college and decided to choose additional prep books to supplement but I can't carry those anywhere because they are too thick. This book is perfect. I travel a lot and use TEST PREP BOOKS while traveling. I use their books not only to study for particular exams but to simply brush up of skills I think are important to re-learn.
Full disclosure, I was sent a copy of this book to review and I took the GRE in the summer of 2013. With the disclosures out of the way, this is a very good study guide (guide being the operative word). If you're looking for a book with loads of questions directly from the most recent GRE, this isn't what you're looking for. This book gives a very good overview of the subjects tested in the GRE, what to look out for, and methods to address the questions in the test. This book is most suited for the fresh college graduate, whose brain is still in operating in the world of English class, algebra, and logic. If you've been out of college for a while, this book is a great stepping stone for your GRE prep (as it allows you to get a good idea of what areas of the GRE are going to require you to study in a more in-depth manner.), but will not be the end-all-be-all for your GRE prep.
I took the GRE a few years ago. I was looking for a book that would help me prep for the exam. I had been out of school for about 4 years now. I needed something to help me refresh some of the skills that I had learned previously. My wife has decided to go back and work on her Masters. So I told her that I would be looking for a test prep book, because I knew how valuable test prep would be. This is that book I needed when I tool the test. If you need a book to help you prep for the test look no further. This book allows for my wife and I to work together to get her ready for the test. It goes step by step and covers most if not all of the material you need to study for the test. It's well organized and I can honestly say I wish I had this book when I took the test.
The content is very organized and easy to read. I found it to be a good review that is concise and to the point. The sample questions invoke thought and challenges what was learned in the past. The only change I would make is to have the answer directly under the question, with references. It would allow instant confirmation and if incorrect, a means to correct thought processes and identify possible learning needs. I prefer instant feedback so I would probably make a copy of the questions and answers to use as I answered the test questions. Good job!
